Sorry, I left out a step. You would create the part number in the parts database including the graphical plan symbol using Parts Database Manager . Then in Create Symbol you enter the part number for the Default Value of the PartNumber attribute on the Specify Attributes step and insert the PartNumber attribute onto the symbol. When you place the symbol, the part number will be automatically assigned and have all the other part number related data associated with it. Note: if you have symbols with this part number assigned in the project before adding the part number to the parts database, you will probably have to use Show Differences after adding the part number to the parts database for it to work.
