Forum Post: RE: Migrate EED (Elementary Electrical Diagrams) files to Promis.e
Hi, thank you for your response. You can find an example of EED file attached. I also upload a screenshot that shows you an EED element information (with User Data Linkage, Dependency Linkages, RIS Data Linkage). All EED elements of a Bentley Elementary Electrical Diagrams design file have a unique ID called ASID. We use EED functions like eedApi_getEEDDataEx to retrieve ASIDs. I need to know if Promis.e can read EED element data like ASID, MSLINK, etc... We have a custom Oracle database where we store components data. In database every component is identified by MSLINK. communities.bentley.com/.../TEST_5F00_EED.dgn

Forum Post: RE: Can't access Restore Project tool in Promise CE
Hi Avanti, We are using MS SQL 2017 as our database server. This image is from when I upgraded a copy of our database to be compatible with Promise CE, This is the database we're using now, I have double checked the credentials are correct. EDIT: Tried to "Restore Project" and it has worked succesfully on a couple of projects, including the project that was causing the errors last week. Nothing has changed in the setup, I'd left it connected to the same database without having to resupply credentials like last week. Regards, Doug

Forum Post: Bentley Connection Client Not Showing Updates
Hi, I currently have Promise 10.02.00.29 installed and noticed 10.03.00.35 was released around many weeks ago yet this update is not being listed in my Connection Client under 'Applications'; it shows "No Application Updates available". Should the Promise update not be listed under here? Many thanks

Forum Post: RE: Can't access Restore Project tool in Promise CE
Hi Dough, As seen in the above screen shot It shows only Test Successful may be you have selected the option to Test Connection only after test connection you need to select the option Execute Script as well which will create / Update the Database. You can follow the steps provided in the below Wiki Link for steps for creating and updating the Project Database Also in your restore project dialog there seems to be no project database selected for the project to be restored in, hence you need to select the database in which you need to restore the Project. Hope this helps! Regards, Satish Saptasagar

Wiki Page: Bentley Substation CONNECT Edition System Requirements
Product: Bentley Substation CONNECT Edition Version: 10 Environment: N\A Area: Installation_Configuration Subarea: N\A NOTE: This is accurate as of the date it was published. Advancements in technology may supersede what is identified below. Please refer to this article's history for changes and updates. Overview This document outlines the minimum system configuration for installation and minimum recommended workstation profile for running Bentley Substation CONNECT Edition . Installation Requirements A CD drive or access to the internet is required for product installation. The minimum system configuration for installation is: Supported Operating Systems Windows 10 (64-bit) - Home, Pro, Enterprise, and Education Windows 8.1 (64-bit) - Standard, Pro, and Enterprise Windows 7 SP1 (64-bit) - Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate Windows Server 2012 (64 bit) Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1(64 bit) - Standard and Enterprise Note: You must have the following Microsoft updates installed on your machine: KB2999226 - For Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, and Windows Server 2012 KB2919355 - For Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 Note: Windows 7 operating system is supported only if you have its service pack (SP1) installed. Bentley does not support its software running on Microsoft operating systems versions that Microsoft has "retired". For more information see Microsoft's application retirement policy and the Bentley Application Support Lifecycle . For similar information on Bentley products, refer to the Bentley Product Support article. Internet Internet connectivity is required to install the product. Installer will attempt to automatically detect your computer's proxy settings from the Internet Explorer. If required, the installer will show a dialog for entering user name and password. In the absence of internet connection, you can create a Deployment Image of the product and install it. Communications Protocols Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) Virtualized Environments Citrix XenApp 7.13 64 bit on Windows Server 2012 Note: Check on Readme file of the version you have, for exact environment version, since this will change from version to version . Software Prerequisites The Prerequisites for Bentley Desktop Applications are automatically downloaded and installed to your workstation while you install Bentley Substation. The contents of the Prerequisites for Bentley Desktop Applications include: Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.2 Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications core Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications localized Microsoft Internet Explorer, minimum v11.0, with 128-bit cipher strength. Microsoft no longer supports any versions prior to v11.0. Internet Explorer is not installed as part of the product pre-requisites. Copyrights in all components are owned by Microsoft Corporation or one of its affiliates, subsidiaries, or licensors. Minimum Profile The minimum recommended workstation profile for running Bentley Substation CONNECT Edition is: Processor Intel® or AMD® processor 1.0 GHz or greater. Bentley Substation is not supported on a CPU that does not support SSE2. Memory 16 GB minimum, 32 GB recommended. More memory almost always improves performance, particularly when working with larger models. Hard Disk 24 GB free disk space (which includes the 16 GB install footprint for a complete installation) Video See the graphics card manufacturer for latest information on DirectX drivers. 1 GB of video RAM or higher is recommended. If insufficient video RAM or no graphics card supported by DirectX can be found, Bentley Substation attempts to use software emulation. For optimal performance, graphics display color depth should be set to 24-bit or higher. When using a color depth setting of 16-bit, some inconsistencies will be noted. For more information on recommended workstation profiles for Bentley Substation , see the Installation Requirements section. Screen Resolution 1024 x 768 or higher. Before You Start When installing or uninstalling this product, you must be logged on with Administrator rights. It is highly recommended that you close any programs and disable any antivirus software that is running prior to the installation of this software. Be sure to turn on your antivirus software when you are finished. Bentley Substation CONNECT Edition is designed so it can be installed and safely coexist on the same workstation as an existing Bentley Substation V8i commercial release. It will not attempt to upgrade or uninstall the existing commercial release, and by default it installs its program and configuration files to different locations than the other commercial release. When you install Bentley Substation CONNECT Edition , it creates the registry entries responsible for file associations. If you do not want this to happen, during installation, in the Select Features to install list, clear the File Association check box. Bentley Substation CONNECT Edition also creates the registry keys for VBA-initiated launching. Windows architecture allows for only one program to own these registry keys and the existing Bentley Substation V8i Commercial Release should continue to function normally by default. If you installed Bentley Substation V8i and Bentley Substation CONNECT Edition on the same workstation and then uninstalled Bentley Substation V8i , you must run the Repair tool to make sure the registry and file associations are correct. Note: If you used Microsoft's program to uninstall, the Repair tool will work correctly. However, if you used a third-party's product to uninstall, it may have removed files needed by Bentley Substation. Bentley Substation CONNECT Edition will not install if any technology preview ("beta") release of Bentley Substation CONNECT Edition already exists on the machine. You will have to uninstall the technology preview ("beta") release before installing Bentley Substation. You should always back up your data prior to installation. When you install Bentley Substation CONNECT Edition , the following applications are installed with it: Product Documentation Example WorkSpace Visualization Content CONNECTION Client Bentley DGN IFilter Bentley Dgn Index Service Bentley DGN Preview Handler Bentley DGN Thumbnail Provider HDR Preview handler Bentley DgnDb i-model Importer 1.6 x64 Visualization content in the form of ready-to-render cell libraries is selected to install by default. The Bentley DGN Reader for Windows 7 is an application that can be downloaded from Bentley iWare section on http://www.bentley.com/en-us/free+software/ . When you install this application on your system, the following applications are installed along with it: Bentley DGN IFilter Bentley DGN Preview Handler Bentley DGN Thumbnail Provider Bentley DGN Thumbnail Provider is required to correctly view DGN thumbnails on the Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10 operating systems. Immediately after installing Bentley DGN Thumbnail Provider , you still may not see the correct thumbnails for DGN files. This will be corrected by rebooting or re-logging onto the system. Bentley DGN IFilter , Bentley DGN Thumbnail Provider , Bentley DGN Indexer, HDR Preview Handler , Bentley i-model ODBC Driver , and Bentley DgnDb i-model Importer are installed as separate applications. When you uninstall Bentley Substation CONNECT Edition , these applications are not removed. If you do not need them, you will have to uninstall them separately. Forum Post: RE: Change text size for Wire Tag, Guage and Colour as apart of my Wire Label
Satish, I have recently attended a Substation user group meeting. At the meeting I raised the above question. A possible solution was that I create two different Wire Label profiles; 1-Wire tag (with larger font), 2-Wire tag colour/size (with smaller font). I have done this but, do you know if I can apply two different profiles (via modify wire) to the one wire label? At this stage I can only seem to apply one or the other :-/ Thanks Jess

Thank you for your response. This does make sense and I am not sure there are any further options for what we were hoping to achieve.
